Simple ADHD Diagnosis
Is There A Simple Test To Diagnose AD/HD?
No. While some may claim to have a simple test, ADHD is an umbrella diagnosis for many symptoms and does not have a simple test like a questionnaire, etc. to determine whether someone has AD/HD.
An extensive evaluation including a thorough physical examination, rating scales, interviews (including parents, teachers, spouse, etc.), anecdotal records, computerized Continuous Performance Tests, etc., help assure an accurate diagnosis made by a trained clinician. The clinician should rule out other factors including learning disabilities that might appear to be AD/HD but are not.
